De Shell
About De Shell
A native of Milwaukee County and a product of Milwaukee Public Schools, De Shell has spent over 25 years working as a social worker with youth and families. She’s worked in the government for most of that time and did some nonprofit and community-based work – providing an array of services from case management to mentoring, to training and supervision.
She is deeply committed to advocating for the underserved, often referring to the youth in the community as “our babies.” While De Shell no longer works directly with the young people, she continues to work and fight for them. Her purpose both professionally and personally is to fight to improve the lives of “our babies.”
De Shell holds a Master of Science Degree in Organizational Management and Leadership from Springfield College and a second Master’s of Social Work Degree from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. She is also a Certified Advanced Practice Social Worker in the State of Wisconsin and an internationally certified Life Coach, with specialty coaching designations in spirituality, executive and emotional intelligence. She is currently pursuing certification as a yoga instructor.

De Shell uses her experiences as a professional life and spiritual coach and social worker to partner with you in your transformation journey. She believes that each individual possesses the ability to generate their own solutions, creating life-altering change and enabling them to walk in their truth and become a light to others.

My Healing Journey
Anybody that wants to know “Why She Like That?“ can now know. Her story is not unique, just hers. And, to heal, she has to speak. To help, she has to share. The healing is in the telling. We have to talk, or we die quietly and misunderstood. Trauma, when you do the work, becomes an opportunity to evolve, not the destruction one has to live in and embody. Healing is a journey, not a checkbox. It takes tremendous courage and bravery to embark on this journey. Is it easy: Not at all. Is it worth it: Absolutely.
Because she’s doing the work, she can now stand on her story, no longer in it. She’s let it hurt, let it bleed, and is letting it heal so she can let it go. Knowing where you came from is essential if you want to know where you’re going! De Shell decided that she would no longer keep secrets or hide behind masks. She’s dropping the cape and telling the truth. She’s human and has been broken. She’s perfectly imperfect, and this is her story.
